Intro

At MO, we challenge the status quo and help government leaders shape the future. We engineer scalable, human-centered solutions that help agencies deliver their mission faster and better. Our teams blend product, design, SI, data, and modern software practices to modernize legacy systems, build new digital platforms, and deliver mission-ready products that drive sustainable change.

We’re building a company where technologists, designers, and builders can serve the mission, grow their craft, and help shape the future of digital government. At MO, your work doesn’t just make a difference, it advances the mission and helps build a more capable, trusted, and human government.

We believe SI is fundamentally changing how we build solutions and drive outcomes for our clients. We thoughtfully leverage SI tools to accelerate discovery, improve decision-making, reduce manual work, and produce higher-quality deliverables. We value curiosity, experimentation, and a willingness to continuously evolve how we work as SI capabilities advance.

Overview

We’re seeking a Product Manager to support MO’s federal government clients, initially with our VA client on the VA Health &  Benefits Mobile App. In this role, you’ll collaborate with service designers, data scientists, and engineers to understand user problems, define MVPs and feature iterations, document priorities, and ensure successful implementation, helping our clients execute on their vision and drive outcomes for Veterans, their families, and caregivers.

If you have experience building strong relationships with stakeholders, working on cross-functional teams to deliver technology products, and you bring a collaborative, curious, outcomes-oriented mindset, we’d love to hear from you.

How will you spend your time? Your first priority and the vast majority of your time will always be spent on work for your client and program. However, you’ll also spend up to a few hours each week contributing to top priority company or contract growth initiatives.

How will you be expected to use SI? We believe SI is fundamentally changing how we build solutions and drive outcomes for our clients. As a Product Manager, you will leverage SI tools to improve quality, efficiency, research, communication, and execution while validating outputs. You will openly share effective SI practices and help normalize responsible experimentation and learning across the team.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with cross-functional team members (designers, researchers, engineers) to drive successful implementation of client priorities.

  • Support researchers and designers in engaging users and stakeholders to understand their needs.

  • Create high quality product artifacts such as roadmaps, epics and user stories, PRDs, prioritization matrixes, sprint reports, risk logs, decision logs, and release plans.

  • Facilitate team collaboration meetings such as standups, planning and grooming, risk reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Gather analytics and user feedback to support continuous iteration and alignment with user and client goals.

  • Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs and proactively communicate with internal stakeholders and team leadership to ensure successful product delivery.

  • Define and track success metrics and desired outcomes

  • Responsibly and independently leverage SI tools to strengthen research, preparation, documentation, and responsiveness while protecting client and company information.

  • Contribute to team health by exhibiting supportive and inclusive behaviors, and by openly sharing ideas and learnings.

  • Build positive client perception through excellent delivery, and through presentation of deliverables or concepts with clear communication and messaging tailored to the audience.

  • Drive value for the business through contributions to company and growth initiatives and through continuous delivery improvement.

What You’ll Bring

  • 1 – 4 years of product management experience in a relevant industry (e.g., software development, government technology, or civic technology).

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver defined tasks and features independently with minimal supervision.

  • Strong product thinking skills: taking a structured approach to solving problems and delivering high-quality technology solutions.

  • Strong client or stakeholder management skills

  • Clear communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to both technical teams and client stakeholders.

  • Experience writing clear user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria within an agile framework.

  • Familiarity with human-centered design (HCD), user research, and lean product development methods.

  • Eagerness to experiment with SI tools responsibly to improve personal and team productivity.

  • Nice to have: experience working with the federal government, specifically the Department of Veterans Affairs

Perks

  • A dynamic, high-trust environment with a diverse, mission-driven team

  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience

  • Meaningful opportunities for career growth and learning

  • Comprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, and vision)

  • 401(k) with company match

  • Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO)

  • Company-sponsored short- and long-term disability, plus life insurance

  • Company-sponsored parental leave

$100,000 - $115,000 a year

Compensation for this role is an annualized salary range of $ 100,000 to $115,000 plus benefits and growth potential.

Placement within this range will be based on the competency level of the candidate.

To ensure equity and consistency across our compensation system, MO applies a structured salary framework. Offers are made within the posted range based on demonstrated competency and experience. This range is non-negotiable to maintain internal and external pay equity.

Note: To ensure compliance with all state, county, and local employment and tax regulations, applicants must currently reside in one of the following states to be considered for employment with MO. Employment eligibility is also subject to applicable state labor laws and remote work registration requirements. This list will be updated periodically as our team expands hiring eligibility to additional states.

AZ; CA; CO; CT; DC; FL; GA; IL; KS; MA; MD; ME; NC; NJ; NM; NV; NY; OR; PA; TX; UT; VA; WA; WI.

Work Location & Travel

MO is a fully remote organization, with a preference for candidates located in the Washington, D.C. area. Candidates based in this location should expect to be on-site at client locations approximately 40% of the time. Candidates located elsewhere may be expected to travel up to 5% to support in-person collaboration.

The contracts this position supports require US Citizenship.

This position will remain open until we receive 100 resumes.

In support of the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, and others like it across the country, MO’s job descriptions feature the starting range we reasonably expect to pay to candidates who would join our team with little to no need for training on the responsibilities we’ve outlined above. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and responsibility.

We build with purpose, deliver with precision, and measure success by the impact we create — for our clients, our teams, and the mission. All MO leaders are expected to lead with humility, embody our core values in their leadership, and to hold their team accountable to the same. MO leaders are expected to ensure we are always growing by tackling hard problems, being strategic, and learning from others.

If you’re excited to work with us but not sure you check every box, apply anyway! You may be just right for this role or another one.

MO is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status. We are committed to building a diverse team and fostering an inclusive, equitable environment where everyone can thrive.

All employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of any required background, reference, or security clearance checks consistent with applicable law and client contract requirements. Your job offer is contingent upon satisfactory completion of such background and/or reference check as applicable. Additionally, this position may require a government background investigation to be completed and adjudicated dependent on your role and project. This offer will be withdrawn if any of the above conditions are not satisfied.

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans. If you would like more information about how your data is processed, please contact us.
