We’re looking for a self-directed Local SEO Specialist with a proven track record in local search optimization and a strong ability to turn research into measurable outcomes.
- English proficiency: strong written and spoken English for clear updates, documentation, and client-aligned communication.
- Independence and ownership: you can manage tasks end-to-end without constant supervision.
- Reliability: reliable internet connection and a dependable computer to complete ongoing work.
- SEO experience: previous, practical SEO experience—especially focused on local SEO.
- Attention to detail: high accuracy when auditing listings, researching keywords/competitors, and implementing on-page/local changes.
- Problem-solving: ability to diagnose issues and propose solutions based on data and best practices.
- Fast learning: you can quickly learn our workflows, standards, and reporting methods.
- Communication and collaboration: you provide clear status updates, explain recommendations, and ask focused questions when needed.
This is ongoing work. We are ideally seeking someone available full-time, but we can start part-time and grow the engagement over time.

As our Local SEO Specialist, you will:
• Optimize and manage Google Business Profiles
• Perform local keyword and competitor research
• Implement on-page and Local SEO improvements
• Manage citations and business listings
• Perform SEO audits and identify opportunities
• Monitor local search rankings and performance
• Support SEO strategies for U.S. home service businesses
• Document your work and communicate progress with the team
• Learn and apply new strategies related to AI-powered search
You will work as part of Sherpa's operations team and collaborate with other team members to execute our SEO strategy.
- Hourly rate: $5–$9 USD/hour depending on experience.
- Ongoing work: consistent opportunities to contribute to local SEO improvements over time.
- Flexible start: we ideally hire full-time, but we can begin part-time and grow as performance and availability align.
- Practical assessment: shortlisted candidates may be invited to complete a paid practical case study.
