We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer who can operate both independently and as a force-multiplier for the team at Siteguard. You should bring strong software engineering fundamentals, proven experience delivering production systems, and a mindset focused on quality, security, and continuous improvement.
Required experience and skills
- Hands-on experience building backend systems (APIs and services) in production environments.
- Strong understanding of software design principles, data modeling, and scalable architecture.
- Proficiency with modern programming languages and engineering practices, including testing, code reviews, and CI/CD.
- Experience working with databases and designing efficient queries and data flows.
- Competence with debugging and troubleshooting using logs, metrics, and system behavior.
- Clear understanding of security fundamentals and how to apply them during development and review.
Collaborative and leadership traits
- Ability to mentor engineers through constructive reviews and practical guidance.
- Strong communication skills—able to translate technical details for different audiences.
- Ownership mindset: we expect you to take responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks.
- Pragmatic problem-solving and willingness to improve existing systems.
- Comfort working in an agile environment and adapting to changing priorities.
If you enjoy building reliable software, improving engineering standards, and taking ownership of complex components, we’d like to hear from you.
- Lead the design and implementation of backend services and APIs, from requirements to production rollout.
- Own critical parts of the codebase end-to-end, including development, testing, deployment, and operational support.
- Improve system reliability and performance by analyzing logs/metrics, identifying bottlenecks, and driving fixes.
- Collaborate on architecture and technical direction, providing thoughtful trade-offs around scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Write clean, well-tested code and set quality standards through reviews, mentoring, and shared best practices.
- Build or enhance observability (logging, monitoring, alerting) so issues can be detected and resolved quickly.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements, estimate work, and ensure delivered outcomes match business needs.
- Contribute to CI/CD and engineering workflows to streamline delivery and reduce risk.
We believe good work needs good support. While the specific benefits are not detailed in this posting, we aim to provide a collaborative environment, clear engineering standards, and a culture that values quality, ownership, and continuous improvement. During the hiring process, we will share the complete compensation and benefits package, including work arrangements and any company-specific perks relevant to the role.
We also prioritize teamwork, thoughtful code reviews, and practical engineering practices that make it easier to deliver reliably—together.
